The Elementary Faith Formation program at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a ‘family centered’ program that serves children and families from preschool through 5th grade.  It is ‘family centered’ in that the goal is to partner with and support parents in the faith formation of their children

At the Baptism of their child parents are asked if they "clearly understand what they are undertaking."  In making the request to have our children baptized we accept the responsibility of training them in the practice of the faith.  The Church teaches that the parents are the first teachers of their children in matters of faith and prays that they will be the best.  However, the entire community has a role in this responsibility and we as a community express this at the Baptisms we attend.  Members of our community step up and volunteer as catechists, cantors, readers and so on.

Our role as catechists is to not only teach the children but support the ongoing faith growth of the parents.

To enroll please complete the registration form. Return the completed form to the Faith Formation Office.

The Parish Office is open Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M and closes for lunch from 12 noon until 1:00pm.  Please email your questions to Maria Christie, maria@assumptionmidland.org

Assumption's Faith Program is centered on the four pillars of Catholic Doctrine: what Catholics believe, how Catholics worship, how Catholics live and how Catholics pray.

Since there is only 27 hours of classroom instruction, we encourage weekly attendance and home study.  Parental classroom visits are encouraged.  A home school program is available for those who prefer this method of instruction.

The study guide for prayers and practices by grade level is here along with other important information.
